Language vs Literature
GCSE English Language and GCSE English Literature are separate qualifications graded 9 to 1. Employers and colleges usually require Language. Literature is valuable but less often mandatory.
Boards and assessment
Lift College currently delivers GCSE English Language (AQA 8700) and GCSE English Literature (AQA 8702). Across GCSEs, Lift offers AQA, Edexcel and OCR. Assessment is by written exams at approved centres.
Adult resits and online study
