Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements to start this course, but a grade 5 or above in GCSE English Language, and confidence with extended written answers, is strongly recommended before you begin.

You will need to register separately as a private candidate with an approved exam centre to sit the final written exams, usually for a small additional fee payable directly to the centre.

Assessment

How you're assessed

A Level Psychology is assessed through three externally examined written papers set and marked by AQA, sat at the end of your course of study, each two hours long, with a mix of multiple choice, short answer and extended essay questions.

There is no coursework, practical assessment or non-exam assessment component. All three papers count towards your final grade on the A* to E scale.
