Will Introduction to Counselling Skills let me counsel people?
No. It teaches you to use counselling skills in the conversations you already have, within your existing role, and to recognise when someone needs more than a listening ear. Practising as a counsellor needs Level 4 or higher training with supervised placement hours.
Do these courses lead to a qualification?
No. They are CPD short courses with a certificate issued by Lift College. The TQUK Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills, under Qualifications, is an Ofqual-regulated qualification with tutor-marked assignments and recorded skills practice, and is the recognised first step in counselling training.
