1. About these terms
These terms form the agreement between you and Lift College("Lift College", "we", "us") when you use this website or enrol on a course. By creating an account or starting a subscription you accept them. They are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
Lift College Limited is registered with the UK Register of Learning Providers under UKPRN 10102267.
If anything here is unclear, contact us at info@liftcollege.co.uk before enrolling. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
2. Your subscription: Monthly or Annual
- Course access is sold as an ongoing subscription on one of two billing frequencies: Monthly (charged each month) or Annual (charged once a year and roughly 15% cheaper than 12 monthly payments).
- Every new sign up starts with a 7-day free trial. You will not be charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel during the trial at no cost.
- Both plans renew automatically until you cancel. Annual subscribers are emailed at least 30 days before each yearly renewal.
- Payments are processed securely by Stripe. If a payment fails you are emailed with a link to update your card, Stripe retries the card automatically over the following days, and lessons are locked from the third failed attempt until payment is received. Access resumes as soon as payment is up to date. If every retry fails, the subscription is cancelled.
- There is no credit check and no interest. See our funding page for the detail of how each plan works.
3. The options and what is included
Courses have one or two options: Study on every course; Study + Exams on GCSEs, A Levels and the International qualifications; Study + CPAC on A Level Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Vocational diplomas, Access to HE, Functional Skills and CPD have one all-inclusive option.
- Study — tuition, materials, named UK subject tutor and marking on every assignment. You arrange your own awarding-body registration and exam entry.
- Study + Exams — everything in Study, plus awarding-body registration and one exam entry per subject. Part of every payment builds an exam credit shown on your dashboard; once the credit covers the awarding-body entry fee, you can book the exam.
- Study + CPAC — a flat £119.99 / month, available only on A-level Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Includes everything in Study + Exams plus the Common Practical Assessment Criteria (CPAC) practical endorsement and access to a recognised exam centre with a CPAC assessor.
- The tier, price, billing frequency and exact awarding body are shown on the course page and at checkout before you pay.
- Resits, additional exam entries and any awarding-body fee we did not quote up front are charged at cost with no mark-up.
4. Minimum term, pausing and cancellation
- On Study Monthly there is no minimum term. Cancel from your dashboard at any time; access continues to the end of the paid month and nothing further is charged.
- On Study + Exams Monthly and Study + CPAC Monthly we quote a 9-month expected term because the monthly price advances your awarding-body fees. You can still cancel from your dashboard at any time with no settlement charge, but any exam credit you have not yet used is forfeited on cancellation and any exam we have not yet booked is void. If we have already registered you with an awarding body or booked an exam, that booking is honoured.
- On Annual (any tier) there is no minimum-term rule. Cancel from your dashboard at any time; access and any earned exam credit continue to the end of the paid year, and no forfeiture applies during that year.
- You can pause a Monthly subscription at any time from your dashboard. While paused you are not billed, your course access is suspended, and your progress and any exam credit are kept.
5. 14-day money back and your right to cancel
Every payment you make to us carries a 14-day money back guarantee. Ask within 14 days of a payment being taken and we refund that payment in full, with no conditions. This includes, and goes further than, your right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 to change your mind within 14 days of subscribing.
To exercise it, request the refund from your dashboard or email info@liftcollege.co.uk. This does not affect any statutory rights you have under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 if the service is not as described.
6. Studying with us
- You must give accurate information when you enrol, including anything a qualification legally requires (for example age or prior-qualification checks).
- Work you submit for marking must be your own. Plagiarism, collusion and contract cheating can lead to withdrawal from the course without refund, and awarding bodies may apply their own sanctions.
- Some qualifications have external requirements we do not control, such as exam windows, placements or awarding-body deadlines. These are stated on the course page.
- You may switch course inside your subscription at no extra cost, subject to entry requirements for the new course. Your tier and billing frequency may change to match the new course; we will confirm any price change in writing before the switch takes effect.
- Our Price Beat Promise is offered subject to the rules set out on that page and does not affect your rights under these terms.
7. Your account, our content and our platform
- Your account is personal to you. Keep your login details private and tell us if you think someone else has used them.
- We may suspend accounts used abusively, unlawfully, or in a way that disrupts the service or other learners.
- Course materials, site content and the Lift College brand are our intellectual property or licensed to us. You may use materials for your own study only. You may not copy, resell, redistribute, or use them to train any machine-learning system.
- We aim for the platform to be available at all times but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Planned maintenance is notified in advance where reasonably possible.
8. Price changes, liability and general
- We may change our prices. Any change to the price of an active subscription takes effect at the next renewal (monthly or yearly) and we will email you at least 30 days before it applies. If you do not wish to continue at the new price, you can cancel before the renewal at no cost.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
- Subject to the point above, our total liability to you in connection with your subscription is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you enrolled, or for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control (including awarding-body actions, exam-centre closures or industrial action).
- We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest revision. Changes that materially affect current subscribers are notified by email at least 30 days before they take effect, and you may cancel before then at no cost.
