Why this training matters
Anyone who handles food at work has a part to play in keeping customers safe. The law requires food handlers to be supervised and instructed or trained in food hygiene, in line with the work they do. That comes from Annex II, Chapter XII of Regulation (EC) No 852/2004 on the hygiene of foodstuffs. It still applies in the UK as assimilated law. These courses support your employer's duty to make sure you are trained. Pick the level that matches your role. Food Hygiene Level 1 suits front-of-house staff and people in low-risk roles who handle wrapped or low-risk food. Food Hygiene Level 2 is for food handlers who prepare, cook or serve food, in kitchens, cafes, care homes, schools and retail. Food Hygiene Level 3 is for supervisors, chefs and managers. It covers the principles of HACCP and how to lead good hygiene practice in a team. Every course is split into short modules with a knowledge check after each one and a final test. Pass and your CPD certificate issued by Lift College is ready the same day. A food hygiene certificate has no legal expiry date. Lift College recommends refreshing every 3 years, and the refresher is free.
Every course ends with a CPD certificate your employer can check.
Your certificate records your name, the course, the hours of learning, the date you completed and a recommended refresh date. Each one has a unique number and a verification link, so anyone can confirm it in seconds.
