About these courses

Why this training matters

In the first few minutes after an injury or sudden illness, what the people nearby know can make a real difference. The Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 require employers to provide adequate and appropriate first-aid equipment, facilities and people. That way, first aid can be given to employees who are injured or become ill at work. These courses build the knowledge behind that. First Aid Training covers the primary survey, CPR and defibrillators, choking, bleeding, burns and shock. It also covers the recovery position, seizures and spotting a stroke with FAST. Anaphylaxis Training explains allergic reactions, how to recognise anaphylaxis and how adrenaline auto-injectors are used. It suits school staff, food businesses and anyone who looks after people with allergies. Medical Gas Safety Training is for people who use medical gases in their work. It covers identifying cylinders, storing and handling them, the fire risk from oxygen and what to do if a pipeline alarm sounds. Every course is split into short modules with a knowledge check after each one and a final test. Pass and your CPD certificate issued by Lift College is ready the same day. Lift College recommends refreshing these courses every 12 months, and the refresher is free when your date comes round.
