The languages UK workplaces actually need.

Training people can understand.
Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974
Section 2 places a duty on every employer to provide the information, instruction, training and supervision needed to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health and safety at work of employees. Training nobody can follow does not meet it.
HSE guidance on migrant workers
The Health and Safety Executive says employers must make sure information and training are in a form workers understand, including in a language other than English where that is needed, and must check that it has been understood.
Read the HSE guidance →Welsh Language Standards
Public bodies in Wales have duties under the Welsh Language (Wales) Measure 2011 and their Welsh Language Standards, which include offering staff training in Welsh on set topics such as health and safety. A mandatory course studied in Welsh is one more duty met.
