GCSEs in Birmingham, answered.

Where do I sit my GCSE exams in Birmingham?

You sit written GCSE exams at our partnered Tutors and Exams centre in Birmingham, Unit 1 Church Court, Cox Street, B3 1RD. It is a two minute walk from the St Paul’s tram stop and around ten minutes from Snow Hill station. You pick your centre when you book your exam entry, usually 3 to 4 months before the exam window.

Can I do A-Level science practicals in Birmingham?

The Birmingham science lab has a dedicated laboratory with up to 16 work stations and its own technician, covering A-Level Biology, Chemistry and Physics for AQA, Pearson Edexcel, OCR and Eduqas. Session dates for 2026/27 are not yet published, so please contact us to confirm a date before you rely on it.

Is there parking at the Birmingham exam centre?

No. There is no parking or drop-off at the Cox Street centre itself, and street parking nearby is limited to two hours with wardens patrolling. Most candidates arrive by tram to St Paul’s or by train to Snow Hill or New Street.

What happens if the Birmingham centre is full on my exam day?

On the busiest days Tutors and Exams Birmingham use an overflow room at Alexander Stadium, Walsall Road, Perry Barr, B42 2LR. You are told which room you are in well before the exam, so you always know where to go.

When do I need to enrol to sit exams in summer 2027?

The standard entry deadline for summer 2027 is 4 April 2027, and 29 March 2027 for subjects with Modern Foreign Languages speaking tests. To be ready in good time we recommend enrolling on your GCSE or A-Level by autumn 2026.

In their words

Tutors and Exams have been fantastic to deal with from the start. They guided us through applying for the exam, we went to an open day where we were shown all the facilities, and they talked in detail with my daughter to ease her anxiety.
Niki R., A-Level, Birmingham
We started off using the Coventry centre with my eldest son, but have now switched to the Birmingham centre as it is so much easier to get to on public transport, with the tram stop two minutes away and the train station a ten minute walk. Kelly and her team are warm, friendly and supportive.
