CPD guide

Looking for a High Speed Training alternative? Lift College is a lower priced alternative for online CPD courses: every Lift College CPD course is £19.99 pay once, or £16.99 a course on a free Lift College organisation account, with a CPD certificate issued by Lift College the same day you pass and a free refresher when your refresh date arrives. Nothing is added at checkout. On each of the seven popular compliance courses compared below, Lift's price is lower than High Speed Training's listed price, checked on 16 October 2026.

Buying training for a team

High Speed Training lists bulk discount bands on its course pages: 10 or more courses, 10% off; 50 or more, 20% off; 100 or more, 30% off; and 500 or more, 40% off. Its team training page says discounts apply to any mix of courses, companies ordering 5 or more courses can pay by invoice, orders of over 500 courses come with a dedicated account manager, and anyone buying training for a team gets its Management Suite free, to upload learners, track progress and scores, download certificates and manage renewals.

Lift College uses one flat price instead of bands. A free Lift College organisation account takes 15% off every course from the first enrolment, so every CPD course is £16.99 a person whether you enrol one person or fifty. There is no account fee and no minimum number of people. You pay by card as you go, or by invoice on 30 day terms with your own PO number. Managers see each learner's progress and can view or download their certificate the day they finish.

For a small team, Lift's £16.99 applies from the first learner. High Speed Training's first band starts at 10 courses, and its deepest discount needs 500 or more.

Certificates and refreshers

Lift College. Every course ends with a CPD certificate issued by Lift College, ready as a PDF the same day you pass. It records your name, the course, the hours of learning, the date you completed and a recommended refresh date, with a unique number and a verification link so an employer can confirm it. Each course has a recommended refresh date of 12 months or 3 years. When it arrives, you retake the latest version of the course free and get a new certificate; Lift emails you 30 days before. There is an 80% pass mark with unlimited free retakes, and you can ask for a full refund within 14 days of paying.

High Speed Training. Its course pages offer a same day digital certificate and a printed certificate posted the next working day (the Care Certificate course gives a same day digital Record of Achievement). On six of the seven courses above, the pages say the certificate does not have an expiry date but carries a recommended renewal period of 1 to 3 years; the Care Certificate page gives neither. Whether a renewal is charged: Check provider.

On both providers' Care Certificate courses, the practical part happens at work. High Speed Training says your manager or employer must arrange a practical assessment in your workplace; at Lift College, your employer observes your practice at work and awards the Care Certificate itself on the national template.

Course range

High Speed Training's homepage says it offers over 180 online courses, so its range is larger. Lift College has 35 CPD courses across health and safety, first aid and medical, food hygiene, safeguarding and care, and workplace compliance, each between 1 and 12 hours. Who each provider suits

High Speed Training may suit you if you need a course that is not among Lift's 35, you want a printed certificate posted to you, or you are buying 500 or more courses and want a dedicated account manager.

Lift College may suit you if you want one price for every course, £19.99 pay once or £16.99 on an organisation account, a CPD certificate issued by Lift College the same day, and a free refresher when it is due.
