About James
James is Lead Tutor for the Teaching and Childcare faculty at Lift College. He supports learners working towards Early Years Educator, Teaching Assistant, HLTA and Teaching in FE qualifications, most of whom are already working in schools, nurseries or FE colleges and studying alongside a full-time role.
He spends his time reviewing assignments, running one to one tutorials on placement evidence, and shaping the observation and portfolio process so it works for people balancing study with a busy setting. He is particularly focused on making sure every learner gets timely, useful feedback within three working days.
Before Lift College, James was a primary school teacher for eight years and a specialist SEND lead for four, so he brings a working teacher’s view of what these qualifications look like once learners land in the classroom.
