Lift College lets you pay for online staff training by invoice. A free Lift College organisation account takes 15% off every course for every person, so every Lift College CPD course is £16.99 instead of £19.99. At checkout you choose card or invoice; an invoice is on 30 day terms with your own PO number. There is no account fee and no minimum number of people, and the same account lets you follow each learner's progress and download a progress report that opens in Excel.
How paying by invoice works at Lift College
- Open the account. Fill in the short form on the organisation accounts page. The account opens in about two minutes in your organisation's name, with the 15% discount on it, and starts with example learners so you can look around first. Nothing is charged until you enrol someone.
- Choose the courses and people. Pick a course, then tap people already on your team or paste a list. You can also buy the places now and name the people later.
- Choose invoice and add your PO. At checkout, choose invoice and enter your own purchase order number. Invoices are on 30 day terms.
- Your people are enrolled. Each person is enrolled and emailed their sign in for you.
- Keep the paperwork. The billing screen shows what you have paid and what is waiting, who each place went to and that they were enrolled, with a receipt and an invoice PDF for every order.
The 15% applies to short courses and qualifications. If someone leaves before their first assignment, their place moves to someone else at no cost.
Card or invoice: what changes
Paying by card, you pay at enrolment as you add each person. Paying by invoice, you add your own PO number at checkout and the invoice is on 30 day terms. The price is the same either way: £16.99 a CPD course, 15% off the £19.99 price. Either way, the billing screen shows what you have paid and what is waiting.

How to track staff training certificates and refresher dates
With a Lift College organisation account, the record of who has done which course, and when it is due again, sits in one place.
On the dashboard. You see who studied this week and for how long, every lesson finished, assessment passed and certificate earned as it happens, and who needs a check in, with a one tap study reminder.
In the learners table. Each person has their progress, study time, last studied date and assignments. Filter to Needs attention, On track or Complete, and download a progress report that opens in Excel.
For each learner. You see progress against the finish date you set, and you can view or download their certificate the day they finish.
On the certificate. Every CPD certificate issued by Lift College records the learner's name, the course, the hours of learning, the completion date and a recommended refresh date of 12 months or 3 years, with a unique number and a verification link so anyone can confirm it. For example, Fire Safety Training has a 12 month refresh, while Food Hygiene Level 2 and Safeguarding Adults Level 2 have 3 years.
When the refresh date arrives. The learner can retake the latest version of the course free and get a new certificate. Lift College emails the learner 30 days before.
Managers see progress only. Written work, feedback and marks stay between the learner and their tutor.
For a care setting, see which topics need refreshing and how often in mandatory training for care workers. For general workplace courses, read our guide to health and safety training online.
Qualifications on the same account
The account is not only for short courses. The same 15% and the same card or invoice terms apply to the regulated qualifications on the organisation accounts page, such as the Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care for care staff, the Level 3 Early Years Educator for nursery room staff, the Level 3 Teaching Assistant Diploma for schools and Functional Skills English and maths Level 2. Each person on a qualification gets their own login and a tutor from the start. The account is built for care homes and home care providers, nurseries, recruitment and supply agencies, schools and academy trusts, businesses and charities, and training providers: anyone who pays for other people's training and wants one place to see how everyone is getting on, and one invoice if they want it.
What the account costs
Nothing. There is no set up fee, no subscription and no minimum number of people. You pay only for the courses you enrol people on, at 15% off the listed price, and a paid place stays open until the learner finishes the course. Every CPD course is £16.99 through the account, and you can see every CPD course and its hours.
