About this course

First Aid Training

You can do first aid training online in the UK with Lift College's First Aid Training course, written around the Resuscitation Council UK 2025 guidelines. It is 4 hours of learning in 8 short modules, covering CPR, defibrillators, choking, bleeding, burns, shock, seizures and strokes. It costs £19.99, pay once, and your accredited CPD certificate is ready the same day you pass. Lift College recommends a refresh every 12 months, and the refresher is free.

Most emergencies at work begin with one person who sees it happen. What that person does in the first few minutes matters. Calling 999 early, starting CPR and fetching a defibrillator all buy time for the ambulance.

This course is written around the Resuscitation Council UK 2025 guidelines. You learn to check a casualty in a clear order, give CPR and use a defibrillator. You also learn to help with choking, bleeding, burns, shock, seizures and strokes. Short modules fit around your shifts, and your CPD certificate is ready the same day you pass.

By the end you can
  • Check a casualty quickly using a structured first aid assessment
  • Call 999 early and give the call handler clear information
  • Give chest compressions at the right rate and depth
  • Use an automated external defibrillator (AED) with confidence
  • Help an adult who is choking with back blows and abdominal thrusts
  • Control serious bleeding with firm, direct pressure
  • Recognise a stroke using FAST and act without delay
  • Place someone in the recovery position and keep checking their breathing

Which online first aid certificate do employers accept?

Your employer decides the first aid training your workplace needs, based on its own first-aid needs assessment. The Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 require employers to provide adequate and appropriate first-aid equipment, facilities and people, and section 2 of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 requires the information, instruction and training employees need. A good certificate records the course, hours, completion date and refresh date, and can be verified. The content should follow current guidance, here the Resuscitation Council UK 2025 guidelines, and be refreshed on schedule.

Lift College's certificate does each of these: it names First Aid Training, shows 4 hours of learning, your completion date and a refresh-by date 12 months on, with a unique number and verification link. The refresher is free.
