Mental Health Awareness Training
Everyone has mental health, just as everyone has physical health. Pressure at work, money worries or life events can affect anyone. Noticing early and talking kindly can make a real difference.
This course builds your confidence to notice when someone is struggling and to start a supportive conversation. You learn how work-related stress arises and what employers must do about it. You learn where to point someone for help, including in a crisis. The course is about awareness and support. It does not teach you to diagnose or treat anyone.

Will this course teach me to diagnose mental health conditions?
No. The course teaches you to notice signs, start a supportive conversation and point people to the right help. Diagnosis and treatment are for health professionals.
What should I do if someone is in crisis?
If a life is at risk, call 999 or go to A&E. In England, people can call NHS 111 and choose the mental health option. Samaritans are free on 116 123, any time.
Is there a text service for mental health support?

What does the law say about stress at work?
HSE says employers have a legal duty to protect workers from stress at work by doing a risk assessment and acting on it. The course explains HSE's six Management Standards areas.
Can a mental health condition be a disability?
Yes, it can. Acas says it counts under the Equality Act 2010 if it has a substantial adverse effect on daily life. It must also last, or be expected to last, at least 12 months.
How long do I keep access?
You keep your access for as long as Lift College offers the course, and never less than 3 years from the day you buy. Your certificate PDF is yours to keep.
What is the free refresher?
