About these courses

Why this training matters

A course written for the UK quotes the wrong law for an Irish workplace. These courses are written for the Republic of Ireland from the first line: the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and the 2007 General Application Regulations rather than UK regulations, the Health and Safety Authority rather than the UK's HSE, the Food Safety Authority of Ireland and Environmental Health Officers for food, Tusla and the Children First Act 2015 for children, the Data Protection Commission for data, and 112 or 999 for emergencies. Every price is in euros and your card is charged in euros, so there is no exchange rate to work out. Manual Handling Training (Ireland) covers the lifting and carrying duties in Chapter 4 of the 2007 Regulations. HACCP Training (Ireland) and Food Safety Training (Ireland) cover Regulation (EC) 852/2004 as it applies in Ireland. Children First Training (Ireland) covers mandated persons, Child Safeguarding Statements and reporting to Tusla. First Aid Awareness (Ireland) gives everyone the knowledge to help until an occupational first aider arrives; it is not the PHECC First Aid Response course. Fire Safety Training (Ireland) and Fire Warden Training (Ireland) cover the emergency duties in section 11 of the 2005 Act and the Fire Services Act 1981. Abrasive Wheels Training (Ireland) and Working at Height Training (Ireland) cover the work equipment and work at height parts of the 2007 Regulations. GDPR Training (Ireland) covers the EU GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 as the Data Protection Commission enforces them. Health and Safety Training (Ireland) is the induction course for every employee, including the safety statement and risk assessment. Every course is split into short modules with a knowledge check after each one. Pass the final test and your CPD certificate issued by Lift College is ready the same day. When your recommended refresh date arrives, you retake the latest version free. Employers in Ireland can order places for a team at 15% off, billed in euros, through a quote.

FAQ

Questions about ireland

Are these courses valid in the Republic of Ireland?

Yes. Each course is written for Irish law and Irish bodies, and your CPD certificate issued by Lift College shows the course title, your hours of learning, the date and a unique number your employer can verify online. Your employer decides what training your role needs, and for some roles, such as occupational first aider or manual handling instructor, Irish law expects a practical course on top; each course page says so where it applies.

Why are the prices in euros?

Because you are paying from Ireland. Every Irish course is €22.99, pay once, and your card is charged €22.99 in euros by Stripe, so there is no exchange rate or foreign transaction fee to work out. The courses for the UK on this site are priced in pounds.

Which Irish course should I take first?

Health and Safety Training (Ireland) if you are new to a workplace, because it covers the duties every employee has under the 2005 Act. After that, the course your work calls for: Manual Handling Training (Ireland) if you lift or carry, HACCP Training (Ireland) or Food Safety Training (Ireland) if you handle food, Children First Training (Ireland) if you work with children.

Is this the same as the UK course with Ireland in the title?

No. The Irish course is written separately. It names the Irish Acts and Regulations, the Irish regulators and the Irish emergency numbers, and leaves out UK law that does not apply in Ireland. Where a UK version of the course exists, the Irish course page links to it so you can choose the right one for where you work.

How often should Irish workplace training be refreshed?

Lift College recommends every 3 years for most of these courses, every 12 months for Fire Safety Training (Ireland) and GDPR Training (Ireland), and every 2 years for First Aid Awareness (Ireland). The refresher is free. Your employer or your sector may ask for a shorter interval.

Can an employer in Ireland buy places for a team?

Yes. Organisation accounts pay €19.54 a place, 15% off the single price, billed in euros on one invoice, and each person gets their own login with the certificates kept in one record. Ask for a quote from any Irish course page and we will come back within one working day.
